Hotel Komune is a painter’s paradise set on the lush unspoilt East Coast of Bali, approx 40 minutes from the airport.

Hotel Komune is blessed with a view of the world famous surf break, Keramas. With its pristine volcanic beach you will enjoy painting under the palm trees with waves crashing on the shore. You will be staying in the Resort rooms set amongst the natural gardens.
All single rooms, no shared rooms. Should you wish to upgrade to a beachside villa or a beach front pool suite, contact the hotel directly and they can provide you with costs.

Meet your host: Ann Steer

Ann has been a professional artist since 2008 and has representation with a number of West

Australian galleries. She has been teaching art for over 15 years both locally and internationally. Suitable for beginners and advanced painters, Ann works closely with her students drawing out their own strengths and talents. 18 May 2024 - Day 1

Arrive from airport - check into hotel - relax and get to know the Resort 7pm - Signature cocktail (included)
Meet by the lawn area by the Beach Club for a welcome cocktail
7.30pm - Meet and Greet Dinner at the Beach Club (included)

19 May 2024 - Day 2

9.30 to 1pm
Meet at the lawn area by the Beach club for our first painting session - Waves

Discuss how waves form, understanding the shadows and shapes of waves and how to translate what we see onto a canvas. Learn techniques for creating foamy and suds at the shore.

1.15pm - Lunch (included)
Spend the rest of the afternoon poolside or book an amazing spa treatment. 7.30pm - Group Dinner at Beach Club (own expense)

20 May 2024 - Day 3

Start the day with a yoga session or an early morning beach walk.
Enjoy a leisurely morning pool side with lunch (at your own expense) or enjoy a spa treatment

Feeling you need some retail therapy? there are 21 drivers at the hotel ready to take you anywhere.
Sanur is only 20 minutes away for a shopping spree, ask at reception for bookings.

1 to 4pm - paint session - creating tropical flowers
Choose to paint your flowers on a black canvas for a bold colour choice or create a painting full of lush foliage

7.30pm - Group Dinner (own expense)

21 May - Day 4

9.30 to 1pm - paint session - pop of colour
This is such a fun session, express yourself in colour, use of dynamic brush strokes and how to use complementary colours to create a cohesive painting. Choose images of beach huts, statues and doorways.

1.15pm - Group lunch (included)

2.30pm - optional trip to Ubud - Cost approx $80-$100
Visit monkey forest, Goa gajang temple, ubud market - dinner in Ubud.

22 May - Day 5

Start the day with a yoga session or an early morning beach walk.

10am to 10.30am - optional stroll through the resort seeking inspiration for future paintings. Learn how to capture images that translate into a painting. How to look for light sources to incorporate in your paintings.

Rest of the morning to enjoy and have a leisurely lunch (own expense)
1 to 4.30pm - paint session - palm trees, pandanus trees and ocean - capturing light and shadows. Quick time to squeeze in a spa date before dinner.
8pm - Farewell Dinner - wear your favourite coastal/ocean colour (included)

23 May - Day 6

Breakfast and final farewell’s

Cancellation 6 months out from the event may be subject to lose 50% of payments made
